Corporate and social responsibility

Cruden corporate social responsibility

Success isn’t all that matters to us. We think it’s really important to make a difference, too. Here at the Cruden Group, we take our Corporate & Social Responsibility seriously and take pride in conducting our business in a way that benefits others without compromising the environment.

Charitable donations

We want to give back, which is why we have Cruden Foundation Limited, a registered charity established in 1957. Donations from our foundation are made to mainly small and medium sized registered charities throughout Scotland, targeting things like community welfare, medical support and research, the arts, education and conservation.

The foundation had donated a huge £1.6 million by 1999. However, since the Millennium, the level of donations has gone through the roof. To date, Cruden Foundation has now donated in excess of £7 million to registered charities throughout Scotland. And we’ll keep going, because we want to make a difference to the lives of people across the country.

If your charitable organisation is interested in applying for a donation from the Cruden Foundation, applications can be made via our website https://crudenfoundation.org/

Environment & sustainability

We're all too aware of the strain on finite resources. We know that today's discerning buyer is seeking modern and convenient homes, designed to meet their needs, but not at the cost of the environment. That's why we're dedicated to all that is innovative in construction technology. It’s this dedication that has allowed us to make all our homes energy efficient, economic and low maintenance, as standard. And our eco-conscious ways don’t stop with our builds. Throughout all of our offices, we have many waste reducing, re-using and recycling initiatives in place.

Access to affordable housing & social inclusion

It’s important to us that we’re an inclusive company and strive to provide access to quality modern housing to all sectors of the community. We try to achieve this by offering priority purchase schemes on certain developments. This means identified demographic groups have the opportunity to buy in key areas prior to open market release of properties, and often at a discounted price.
We also offer a number of flexible buying initiatives to assist house hunters in purchasing their own home. Our shared equity scheme, which has helped many first time buyers to date, promotes the ethos of affordability by alleviating some of the burden of large and unachievable deposits.

Community benefits

We’re proud to engage in community benefits initiatives. These schemes support local people in on-site training placements that often result in real employment opportunities. Our commitment to the community also means we make sure that local small and medium sized enterprises are informed of all tendering opportunities that arise, in order to encourage the growth and success of these businesses.
