Established in 1954 and an integral part of the Cruden Group, Hart Builders delivers construction projects to the highest of standards throughout the Central, Lothians, Fife and Border areas of Scotland.

Completing a variety of large scale projects each year, our annual turnover is in the region of £50 million. Our core area of business is the provision of mixed tenure public sector housing, but our expertise also extends to private sector housing and construction projects within the health, education, commercial and leisure/retail sectors.

Based at Macmerry in East Lothian, we employ in excess of 200 staff, including all trades operatives and apprentices in-house. This model allows us to retain direct control over the delivery of projects and has been instrumental in cementing our reputation for quality. Committed to meeting client expectations, we are proud to have achieved many long-standing client relationships. As a result, 90% of our core portfolio constitutes repeat business from Registered Social Landlords (RSLs) through partnering and framework agreements, which underpin the ongoing success of the business.
