Here at Cruden Homes, we recognise that we've all been thrown into unprecedented circumstances because of coronavirus and we know that can generate a lot of uncertainty. However, we want to reassure you that we're here to help guide you through your home move plans as simply, easily and flexibly as possible. So whether you're thinking about buying a new home or if you're already in the process of buying a Cruden Home, we've collated answers to some of your most frequently asked questions below. Q. Are any Cruden Homes developments still open?

A. Our sales centres are temporarily closed, however we are very much open for business and we would love to chat to you about your requirements. Please call the development of interest and we would be delighted to discuss your needs.

Q. Are your construction sites still open?

A. In accordance with the latest government guidance, we have now commenced phased and controlled pre-start operations on Cruden Homes developments. You can find out more about our safe return to work plan here. We are closely monitoring public health and government guidance so that we can deliver further phases of activity as soon as it is safe and permitted to do so.

Q. How can I access more detailed information on a development?

A. Please visit our development pages and select the development of interest. Here you will find site plans and house types, availability and prices, photos and other tools, including virtual visits, videos and plot selectors.

Q. Can I still reserve a property when your sales offices are closed?

A. Right now you can reserve a plot of your choice on any Cruden Homes development for only £99. With a range of developments available across the east and west of Scotland, the £99 reservation offer lets you choose your perfect home in your ideal location. And by reserving your new home now, you will have first refusal on the plot when life returns to normal. Our dedicated sales team can be reached on the development telephone numbers, which are at the bottom of the each development page. Q. Will I be able to get a mortgage just now?

A. A variety of mortgages are available at present from numerous lenders, including many products with zero arrangement fees and first time buyer products. We can recommend an independent broker to provide you with free, no obligation advice to suit your requirements and guide you through the application process. The brokers can also advise whether there may be a government initiative, such as First Home Fund or Help to Buy, to assist you.

Q. I would like to reserve but when will the home be ready?

A. In accordance with government guidance, whilst pre-start site operations have now commenced, full construction activity remains temporarily on hold, therefore there will be an adjustment to our anticipated completion dates. However, we have been monitoring dates carefully and will be able to give you an indicative window for completion, which will be subject to re-start.  As soon as it is safe and permitted to resume construction fully, we will revise our programmes so we can advise you of our new proposed dates.

Q. What happens if I reserve a home then my circumstances change?

A. We understand that there’s lots of uncertainty just now and planning for the future may seem a real challenge. We’re here to make life a little easier. That’s why we’re offering a full refund on the reservation fee if your circumstances change. Should your circumstances change after reserving, please do speak to us in the first instance to see how we can help.

Q. I have reserved a property what will happen to my reservation?

A. If you have reserved a property with us we will be in regular contact with you during this period. Please be assured that we will work with you to assist you during this uncertain time.

Q. I can’t conclude missives within the agreed timescales, will I lose my reservation?

A. We understand that the present circumstances can affect your ability or confidence to progress matters. Please speak to us in the first instance and we will be as flexible as possible.

Q. Can I still move house during this time?

A. Some home moves can still take place at the present time, however, this very much depends on your circumstances and whether correct social distancing measures can be followed. Please speak to us directly for more information.

Q. I have bought a home, will my moving date be affected?

A. Some adjustments to anticipated settlement dates will be required. Our sales team will share this information with you directly when more information is available, but please be assured that we will resume site operations as soon as it is safe and permitted to do so and we will take all measures we can to minimise long-term disruption to your move plans.

Q. When will your sales offices and show homes be open again?

A. We are monitoring Government and public health guidance very closely and will re-open our sales offices and show homes as soon as it is safe and permitted to do so. In the meantime, and for your peace of mind, we have been putting in place special protocols to ensure that when we do re-open you can visit us as safely as possible. This includes social distancing measures, enhanced hygiene and cleaning regimes, provision of PPE and digitalised services.  Once our re-opening dates are confirmed, we will contact all existing customers and those who have registered their interest in our developments to discuss your visit and explain what will happen when you come to site. This information will also be published on our website.
