Gill Henry, Business Development Director for Hart Builders was speaking at Borders College today, Tuesday 23rd January, to 120 youngsters across the Borders secondary schools. The Building Futures event hosted by DYW (Developing Young Workforce, Borders) concentrated on the construction industry with local employers from the sector on hand to answer any questions. Pupils were divided into groups to experience workshops in brickwork, carpentry & joinery, electrical, painting & decorating and plumbing. Gill shared her own career background and experiences in the construction industry as well as the many varied jobs available. Gill’s passion for construction is infectious and we hope that was passed onto the pupils - particularly the large number of females that came along.
