Firstly, Hart has been chosen as one of only five contractors by the Rowan Group, a unique consortium of Registered Social Landlords comprising of eight housing associations, which operates in Edinburgh and the Lothians. This substantial project means Hart Builders will play a key role in helping to deliver a joint £55 million housing project, creating an impressive 600 new homes within the social housing sector over the next four years.

Hart Builders also recently started work on a £22m development on behalf of Dunedin Canmore Housing Association. Situated off Westfield Road within the capital, this exciting new development will provide a mix of 193 properties on completion, ranging from studio flats to one and two-bedroom apartments. Aptly named ‘Westfield’, the development will provide accommodation for social and mid market rent as well as affordable properties to buy. There will also be a commercial element to the site, which will see the construction of eight modern business units, providing the opportunity for a range of companies to invest in the area.

Work is anticipated to start on the Rowan Group housing project later in the year, while Hart Builders is already on site at Westfield, with the completion of phase one scheduled for September 2011.
