PROJECT SHOWCASE: ROYSTON WARDIEBURN CARE HOME

main entrance to development

The recently completed “Elizabeth Maginnis Centre”, named in honour of the late Edinburgh Councillor, provides 68 self contained flats offering flexible care for older and vulnerable people. It is designed to enable residents to be independent for as long as possible. Several of the flats are designed for wheelchair users and two lifts provide access to every floor of the building.

The centre also benefits from a hard wired emergency call system linked to the Council’s Community Alarm Telecare service and pull cords are provided in every room to give tenants access to emergency assistance.

The building is highly insulated and a centralised gas chp boiler house provides heat and electricity.
