PROJECT SHOWCASE: OAKBURN AVENUE, MILNGAVIE

Oakburn Avenue is a purpose built, 26 bedsit, sheltered housing complex with an integral daycare centre. Detailed consideration was givento the residents’ requirements during the design stage and all rooms have been designed to maximise the amount of natural lighting entering the building, together with a bright palette of materials for the internal finishes.

The daycare centre was specifically designed for elderly people with dementia and again cogniscance was given to the components and finishes incorporated in the final design. The complex was also served by a communal underfloor heating system.

The project was successfully handed over on time and within budget and has proved popular with the residents.
