Corporate & Social Responsibility

Here at the Cruden Group, we're happy to acknowledge our corporate and social responsibilities and take pride in ensuring we conduct our business in a way that benefits others without compromising the environment.

CHARITABLE DONATIONS

We've made charitable donations of more than £3.7 million to date via the Cruden Foundation - a connected charitable trust which supports small and medium sized Scottish charities.

ENVIRONMENT/SUSTAINABILITY

We're all too aware of the strain on finite resources and understand that today's discerning buyer is seeking modern and convenient homes designed and built to meet lifetime needs, but not at the cost of the environment. That's why we're dedicated to all that's innovative in construction technology and all our homes are energy efficient, economic and low maintenance as standard. Moreover, throughout our offices we have introduced waste reducing initiatives and re-use and recycle as far as is practicably possible.

ACCESS TO AFFORDABLE HOUSING & SOCIAL INCLUSION

The Cruden Group endeavours to promote access to quality modern housing to all sectors of the community wherever possible. This is achieved through the provision of priority purchase schemes on certain developments, which ensure that identified demographic groups have the opportunity to purchase in key areas prior to open market release of properties, and often at a discounted price.

In addition, we are pleased to offer a number of flexible buying initiatives to assist prospective purchasers in purchasing their own home. Our shared equity scheme, which has helped many first buyers to date, promotes the ethos of affordability by facilitating purchases that would otherwise not have been possible by alleviating the burden of funding a large and, for many, seemingly unachievable deposit.

APPRENTICESHIPS

We're committed to providing learning opportunities and each year our building companies have a combined intake of more than 50 apprentices on specially devised schemes which see the vast majority of candidates gain full time employment within the group on completion of their apprenticeship.

COMMUNITY BENEFITS

The Cruden Group is proud to engage in community benefits initiatives across certain projects. These schemes support local people in on-site training placements and apprenticeships that often result in real employment opportunities. Our commitment in this field also extends to ensuring that local small and medium sized enterprises are made aware of all tendering opportunities that arise in order to promote and encourage the sustainable growth and success of such businesses.

ACCREDITATIONS

We strive to be the best at what we do for the benefit of our clients and customers. That's why we're proud to have achieved membership of the Considerate Constructor's initiative along with other relevant industry accreditations. In one of our most significant achievements to date, Cruden Building & Renewals secured BSI Registration to PAS99:2006 for their integrated management systems and became the first builder in Scotland to be awarded such an accolade. This, Cruden Building & Renewal's 4th BSI certification, represents the standard for a single holistic management system which encompasses 3 separate registrations already secured: ISO14001:2004 (for environment); ISO9001:2008 (for quality) and OHSAS18001:2007 (for Health & Safety). Within our group, our commitment to continuous improvement is further represented through our achievement of Investors in People status, and we're proud to promote and encourage best practice from all our employees.
